The Grand Lodge of the CSPS

The Grand Lodge Č.S.P.S. is a Czech benevolent society that was formed in 1854 by the Bohemian immigrants to facilitate their socialization in the U.S. and assure the continuation of their history, culture, language, and spirit. Č.S.P.S. supported a Czech language school, social events, provided health and life insurance, and created a cemetery for its members. The Společnost of Baltimore City, lodge 26, operated in Baltimore City and the counties of the state of Maryland.

The Czech and Slovak Herritage Association was established in 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then the association has grown into a national organization with ties all over the United States. Although incorporated in Baltimore, the group welcomes members from all over the country.

The American Friends of the Czech Republic (AFoCR) was founded to educate government leaders, media and other opinion makers across America about the goals and aspirations of the Czech people. AFoCR fosters closer ties between the United States and the Czech Republic in the areas of business, trade, culture, law reform, and education. Since its founding in 1995, AFoCR has been a voice for the American constituency that supports the Czech Republic.
